HistoryIn November of 1994, several local soccer players and families were interested in finding some way to provide the opportunity for young men and women in Venango County to participate in organized play. This group of parents founded the Franklin Soccer Club, entirely self-funded. That first year, a small team traveled to games in Akron, Ohio, Pittsburgh, and Maryland to play in tournaments.In 1995, the group reorganized into the Oil Region Soccer Association, joining PA West Youth Soccer Association. The organization slowly gained strength and recognition, offering team play in every season and in several age groups. We continue to be a non-profit organization, operating strictly with parents and other volunteers. ORSA has several goals moving into the turn of the century, including continued growth and presence in PA West, the acquistion of more equipment, game jerseys, and playing fields. |
